GOP Parodies Hillary Clinton's Calculated Roundtable Events

May 26, 2015

Ahead of Hillary Clinton’s campaign stop in South Carolina, the Republican National Committee released a new ad parodying Clinton’s staged roundtable events.

The ad’s roundtable participants all ask how they got to be in the ad. One participant said he was an Obama administration intern; another said she had submitted three letters of recommendation and had her former boyfriend interviewed.

The director of the ad reminded the participants that they had to read off a pre-approved list of softball questions. The director also reminds the participants that they are not allowed to ask about the Clinton Foundation accepting foreign donations or about the Keystone XL pipeline.

One participant, Alyssa, asks the director about Clinton accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars in speaking fees. Seeing the issue, the director quickly swaps the original Alyssa out for an alternative.
