Continetti: Trump's Election Night Win 'Compares to Reagan's Election'

November 10, 2016

Washington Free Beacon editor in chief Matthew Continetti joined MSNBC's Meet the Press panel on Thursday evening to discuss President-elect Donald Trump's election victory.

Continetti said that he was optimistic about Trump's win and said his victory as an outsider was similar to Ronald Reagan's election in 1980.

"I'm mildly optimistic. This is the most significant political event of my lifetime," Continetti said. "It only really compares to Reagan's election. And even then, there are some differences. Reagan was a two-term governor of California, he had been in the public eye, he had run for president in '76. Trump has none of that."

Continetti called Trump taking over the presidency a "political earthquake."
