Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton asked why she is not way ahead of her Republican opponent Donald Trump on Wednesday in a video address to the Laborers’ International Union of North America.
Clinton highlighted her support for raising the minimum wage, collective bargaining, and investing in infrastructure during her video message to the gathering held in Las Vegas, the Washington Post reported.
"Having said all of this, ‘Why aren’t I 50 points ahead?’ you might ask?" Clinton said.
She went on to encourage members of the gathering to get Trump’s record out to the public and slammed him for being a proponent of right to work and holding anti-union views.
In a new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll released Wednesday, Clinton is leading Trump by six points ahead of Monday’s first presidential debate. Clinton has 43 percent support of likely voters in a four-way race, with Trump at 37 percent, Libertarian Party nominee Gary Johnson pulling nine percent, and Green Party candidate Jill Stein at three percent.
When Clinton is in a two-way race against Trump, she shoots up to 48 percent support among likely voters while Trump is at 41 percent.
The NBC/WSJ poll surveyed 992 likely voters between Sept. 16 and 19 with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.2 percentage points.
