Bill Clinton Messes Up Hillary's Campaign Slogan: 'Growing Together'

October 25, 2016

After a year on the campaign trail stumping for his wife, Hillary Clinton, former President Bill Clinton forgot her campaign slogan while speaking at a rally on Tuesday.

"But we were growing together," he said.

Clinton shook his finger at the crowd as he recited the wrong words.

"This campaign slogan of Hillary's, 'growing together,' is more than just two words that sound good," Clinton said.

Clinton made this statement while standing behind a podium with his wife's actual campaign slogan, "stronger together," written on it.

He mispronounced the word "campaign" as well.

Stronger Together is also the title of Hillary Clinton's book that she wrote with running mate Sen. Tim Kaine (D., Va.).

The New York Times dubbed the book a "flop," the Washington Free Beacon previously reported.

Hillary Clinton's new book Stronger Together is a "flop" after selling less than 3,000 copies in its first week on sale, the New York Times reported Wednesday.

Stronger Together, named after Clinton's campaign slogan and co-authored by running mate Sen. Tim Kaine (D., Va.), serves as a blueprint of progressive policy proposals for the country should Clinton win the White House.

Tuesday's gaffe was one of many instances in which Clinton has struggled being a surrogate for his wife on the campaign trail.
