Hillary Clinton’s only challenger, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.), will officially launch his campaign Tuesday morning. Sanders, an outspoken socialist, has railed against the Clintons’ obsession with wealth. He has also spoken out against the Clinton Foundation accepting foreign donations.
During a dinner interview with CNBC, Sanders said he was worried about Americans who have to work more than one job and have less than $10,000 in savings. When asked about the Clintons have accepted millions in speaking fees over the past few months and how it relates to the issues Sanders cares about, he said that theoretically, a billionaire could care about the working issues of the American people.
"When you hustle money like that you don’t sit in restaurants like this, you sit in restaurants like where you are spending hundreds of dollars for dinner," said Sanders. "That’s the world that you are accustomed to and that’s the worldview that you adopt."
Sanders stopped short of condemning the Clintons for being multi-billionaires but did say that the type of wealth could potentially isolate them from the reality of the world.
