Netanyahu on Iran Nuclear Deal: The World Is Now a More Dangerous Place

July 14, 2015

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the world is a more dangerous place because of the Iran deal during a press conference on Tuesday.

"The world is a much more dangerous place today than it was yesterday," Netanyahu said.

President Obama announced Tuesday that the United States and other world leaders reached an agreement with Iran in regard to its nuclear program.

The deal would lift sanctions that allow Iran to receive billions of dollars and further fund their terrorist activities. Iran has funded the terrorist activities of Hezbollah and Hamas, both groups that have sought the annihilation of Israel.

"In fact, the deal gives Iran every incentive not to change. In the coming decade, the deal will reward Iran, the terrorist regime in Tehran, with hundreds of billions of dollars," Netanyahu said. "This cash bonanza will fuel Iran’s terrorism worldwide, its aggression in the region and its efforts to destroy Israel, which are ongoing."

Iran itself recently held a rally where citizens shouted "Death to America" and "Death to Israel."

"While they were closing a deal with Vienna, Iran’s president chose to go to a rally in Tehran," Netanyahu said. "While at this rally, a friendly Iranian shouted death to America, Death to Israel. This didn't happen four years ago, it happened four days ago."

Netanyahu said that this deal would repeat the mistakes of the past when the United States negotiated with North Korea on its nuclear program.

"In addition to filling Iran’s terror war chest, this deal repeats the mistakes made with North Korea," Netanyahu said. "There, too, we were sure that inspections and verifications would prevent a regime from preparing nuclear weapons. We all know how that ended."

"Israel is not bound by this deal with Iran, because Iran continues to seek our destruction," Netanyahu said. "We will always defend ourselves."
