America Rising Ad Nails Obama-Clinton Foreign Policy: 'Leading From Behind'

December 9, 2015

A new ad from the conservative PAC America Rising blasts the foreign policy of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, juxtaposing numerous statements showing confidence he's contained Islamic extremism and Clinton's support for him with the images of terrorism seen in Paris and San Bernardino over the past month.

The ad begins with clips of various crises handled by former presidents, like Pearl Harbor and Franklin D. Roosevelt's sturdy response, John F. Kennedy's guidance during the Cuban Missile Crisis, Ronald Reagan telling the Russians to tear down the Berlin Wall, and George W. Bush's leadership in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Then, it flashes to images of the Islamic State's terrorist attack and news clips of Obama's underestimation of the group, which he once dismissively compared to a junior varsity basketball team, and Clinton giving Obama an "A" for his presidency. In addition, Obama's references to having the Islamic State "contained" and insisting no homeland attack was imminent are spliced with clips of the carnage in Paris and California enacted by followers of the terror organization.

Throughout, the imagery and sound of a phone ringing with various presidents answering the call is shown, but at the end, the ad zooms in slowly on the Oval Office as the phone rings with no one at the desk.
