A TSA agent has been arrested and charged with sexual abuse after allegedly molesting a student in a bathroom at LaGuardia Airport in New York City.
The incident, first reported by the New York Post, occurred Tuesday evening after a 22-year-old female foreign exchange student from Korea arrived on a flight from Salt Lake City.
According to sources, the woman was approached by a heavyset man clad in a TSA uniform who "lured" her into the men’s bathroom and molested her.
NBC New York spoke to sources with Port Authority police who identified the alleged assailant as a TSA screener. The man allegedly directed the woman to follow him into the bathroom for "additional screening" so he could determine if she had a weapon.
After the incident, the victim filed a complaint with police and later picked the TSA agent out of a photo lineup. He has since been arrested and charged with sexual abuse.
The victim lives in Salt Lake City and was visiting friends in New York. The TSA has yet to comment on the incident.
