A tanning salon employee ended a robbery spree on Friday after pulling a handgun on the suspect as he tried to rob her store.

At the tail end of a robbery spree one suspect in Dayton, Ohio found himself on the wrong end of a gun. At Bobby Hoblit's Sundeck Tanning Salon the robber demanded the cashier, who also happens to be Hoblit's girlfriend, give him all of the money in the register. That's when she pulled the subcompact Colt handgun from below the counter and pointed at him.

"As soon as Megan my girlfriend opened the drawer he said I don’t want any trouble just give me all the money," Hoblit told WDTN. "At that point my girlfriend’s instincts kicked in and we had a pistol underneath and she grabbed the pistol pointed it right at his face and said I don’t think you’re going to get that money today."

Dayton Police said they suspected the robber in five other robberies last week, including two other robberies at a Dairy Queen and Subway on Friday morning. "We were kind of following up on some leads," Dayton Police Lt. Joe Wiesman told the news station. "He had committed a robbery at a Circle K back on April 5th as well as Rich’s Smoke Shop."

Hoblit said his girlfriend was upset by the whole ordeal but that she wasn't willing to give up the money because it's the store's lifeline. "She was really upset but she’s not going to give up our money," he told WDTN. "This is our season. We’re a small family business. This is what we live off of and she’s not going to give that up."

The suspect remains at large and police are requesting any information the public might have on his whereabouts.
