House leaders have postponed voting on the American Health Care Act, the Republican replacement to Obamacare, which was originally slated to happen Thursday night, NBC News reported.

President Donald Trump met with House Freedom Caucus members Thursday in an attempt to get them on board to vote for the legislation. Chairman of the caucus Rep. Mark Meadows (R., N.C.) said there was no deal made.

"The president was incredibly gracious and willing to work with us," said Meadows. "We had a positive and productive conversation."

"We’re not there yet, but I am hopeful we can get this done," he said. "President Trump, his team, and my colleagues are all actively working to make real changes to the bill. If the bill remains the same, I remain opposed to it and cannot vote for it."

Following the Freedom Caucus meeting and an announcement from Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R., Wis.) that his weekly press briefing was postponed, House leaders decided to cancel voting on the legislation tonight.

A source from the White House says that there will likely be a vote on the legislation Friday morning, CNN reported.
