Magnitude 7.3 Earthquake Strikes Japan, Tsunami Warning Issued

A powerful earthquake rattled Fukushima, Japan on Monday, prompting authorities to issue a tsunami warning to residents.

The earthquake was measured at a preliminary magnitude of 7.3, the strongest earthquake to hit the area since 2011, the Associated Press reported.

The Japan Meteorological Agency and U.S. Geological Survey both announced the earthquake and tsunami warning.
