Marijuana legalization activists are planning to give away thousands of joints to people traveling to the nation's capital on Inauguration Day.
The D.C. Cannabis Coalition dubbed the event #Trump420 and will encourage supporters to light up four minutes and 20 seconds into President-elect Donald Trump's speech.
"The main message is it's time to legalize cannabis at the federal level," said Adam Eidinger, the founder of DCMJ, a group of D.C. residents who helped pass legalization legislation in the district.
D.C. law allows for the possession of two ounces or less of marijuana. Residents may grow or give away weed, but it is illegal to sell it.
The group plans on handing out 4,200 joints during a march on Jan. 20 that will kickoff at DuPont Circle and end at the National Mall before Trump's remarks.
Smoking on federal property is illegal.
"We are going to tell them that if they smoke on federal property, they are risking arrest, but that's a form of civil disobedience," Eidinger told local media. "I think it's a good protest. If someone wants to do it, they are risking arrest, but it's a protest and you know what, the National Mall is a place for protest."
