Democratic congressional candidate Joel Tyner is being accused by his treasurer of stealing funds from his campaign, according to Politico Influence.
Misha Fredericks, now the former treasurer of Tyner’s campaign, claims that the candidate for New York’s 19th district ignored her warnings of discrepancies between the campaign and FEC filings.
Fredericks reported the irregularities to the FEC and resigned from the campaign after Tyner refused to do something about the problem.
"There have been numerous fundraisers to support Mr. Tyner's congressional campaign. On only two of these have I received cash donations to deposit ... I am sure there must have been other cash received but I was never informed of any," Fredericks reportedly said in the letter, according to Politico.
