Kathy Griffin has apologized for a picture of her holding a mock President Donald Trump head covered in blood in a recent photo shoot.
The picture drew instant media attention and outrage as Griffin was criticized for the photo.
Griffin's first public response was a tweet stating that she didn't condone violence against Trump, but that was soon deleted.
Later on Tuesday, Griffin tweeted a video of her apologizing for the picture.
I am sorry. I went too far. I was wrong. pic.twitter.com/LBKvqf9xFB

Griffin's response and apology came too late for many, as the Secret Service was widely tweeted at asking for an investigation of the comedian. The Secret Service did seem to acknowledge the controversy without ever mentioning Griffin by name.
