Pew has released a wide-ranging survey on "political polarization and media habits," and some of the findings about liberals are pretty interesting. They aren’t actually that hard to believe, though. They are entirely predictable. For example:
Liberals are more likely to trust government-funded news sources
The most trusted news sources among "consistently liberal" individuals are all funded, at least in part, by the government.
Liberals are more likely to be assholes because of politics
Liberals regularly shun others because of their political views.
Almost half of "consistently liberal" individuals have ended a Facebook friendship over a political disagreement.
Almost no one has heard of the Daily Kos, Think Progress, and Ed Shultz
The vast majority of respondents—85 percent—have never heard of liberal icon Ed Shultz, nor have they heard of popular left-wing sites such as Daily Kos (90 percent) and Think Progress (more than 90 percent).
(Blank space = haven't heard of it)
Almost half of Daily Show viewers are "consistently liberal"
Who would have thought? That's even more ideologically skewed than MSNBC. Meanwhile, 100 percent of liberals are likely to worship Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert/John Oliver like a god.
