Rafael Nadal’s dusting of an opponent in straight sets at the French Open was business as usual for the Spaniard. The real story in Rafa’s fifth-straight French Open quarterfinal berth was up in the stands.
That’s because model and media personality Damaris Lewis took in the match in the good seats.
Damaris rose to prominence when she was a SI swim smoke in its 2009, 2010, and 2011 editions. Here she is posing in front of a WWII-era bomber. I don't know who had more kills: the plane or Damaris.
She's tight with her fellow sisters in the SI swim smoke sorority. That's 2014 rookie Chanel Iman on the far right.
Damaris has taken a hiatus from SI modeling. She’s been touring with Prince for the last couple years as his "Muse & Dancer," first joining him for his Welcome 2 Australia Tour with The New Power Generation. Only Prince would label a backup dancer a muse.
When not jet setting with Prince, Damaris is blogging for her personal website "Heels to Hoops." Her last post was back in January when she interviewed Indiana Pacer Lance Stephenson, before he went certifiably insane.
She was featured prominently in the promo leading up to the 2013 NBA All Star Game. This game was only notable for Kobe Bryant blocking two of LeBron James' shots, hence feeding into the ridiculous "Kobe vs. LeBron" debate. Thankfully, we had Damaris to distract us.
Damaris is not your standard video chick. She’s a classically trained dancer.
Not to be outdone by Damaris, the model was actually joined at the Open by Prince himself.
Prince was also accompanied by a scepter.
