Former aides to President Barack Obama are beginning to capitalize on high-paying opportunities to take sides on key issues that the president will face in his second term.
Late last night the campaign of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney issued a statement condemning the mob assaults on the U.S. Embassies in Egypt and Libya, and criticizing the Obama administration for the U.S. Embassy in Cairo’s equation of the assault with fringe individuals who hurt “religious feelings.”
The Obama reelection campaign jumped into spin mode Wednesday after the surprise announcement that the president would accept his party’s nomination for a second term not at Bank of America Stadium, where the National Football League’s Carolina Panthers play, but at the Time Warner Cable Arena where the convention was gaveled into order Tuesday.
