Let’s hope the Obamas like leftovers! The White House exclusively confirmed to Chuck Todd’s Daily Rundown Friday morning that they will be serving Turkey Chili today and everyday, until the shutdown is over:
CHUCK TODD: But first the White House soup of the day, and by the way it's going to be a rerun. It's turkey chili, and the White House confirms to The Daily Rundown that it will be turkey chili until the shutdown is over.
The West Wing Cafeteria remains open, but has a limited menu until Congress can pass a budget. Thankfully for the Obamas, especially Michelle, Turkey Chili is healthier, as Turkey is a leaner form of protein than the oft-used beef. No word yet on whether the serious budget cuts have forced Michelle to stop watering her enormous vegetable garden.
