President Donald Trump went after "troublemakers" in a tweet Friday morning, describing "elevator screamers" protesting Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh as "paid professionals" whose signs are paid for by wealthy Democratic mega donor George Soros.
"The very rude elevator screamers are paid professionals only looking to make Senators look bad. Don’t fall for it! Also, look at all of the professionally made identical signs. Paid for by Soros and others. These are not signs made in the basement from love!" Trump wrote in a tweet.

Kavanaugh has faced a series of sexual misconduct allegations that, according to the accusers, occurred decades ago. Christine Blasey Ford told the Washington Post that Kavanaugh, then a junior in high school, attacked her when they were at a party in Maryland in the early 1980s. A second allegation came from a woman named Deborah Ramirez who accused Kavanaugh of exposing himself at a dorm party during his freshmen year at Yale. Another allegation was brought forth from a woman named Julie Swetnick, who is represented by anti-Trump lawyer Michael Avenatti. Swetnick claimed Kavanaugh was involved in a series of "gang rapes" when he was in high school, but she offered no additional evidence or witnesses to support her allegations.
Kavanaugh has vehemently denied all accusations and there have been no corroborating witnesses to the alleged assaults.
Last week, Kavanaugh passed through the Senate Judiciary Committee but under the stipulation from Sen. Jeff Flake (R., Ariz.) that the FBI conduct a one-week investigation "limited in time and scope to the current allegations" against Kavanaugh. Flake added the stipulation after he was confronted by protesters while in an elevator. Kavanaugh's confirmation process was delayed a week as the FBI investigated the allegations. Following the conclusion on the investigation late Wednesday, senators have come out and said the FBI's report provides no new evidence against Kavanaugh and that none of the allegations could be corroborated by eye-witnesses.
The Washington Free Beacon reported that a Soros-backed group, The Center for Popular Democracy, took credit for confronting Flake and delaying the vote for another week.
