President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence fared better with Hispanic and black voters than former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney did four years ago, despite the Clinton campaign expending energy painting Trump as a racist.

Trump pulled in 29 percent of the Hispanic vote to Hillary Clinton's 65 percent, the New York Times reported. Support among Hispanic voters for Trump was two percent higher than Mitt Romney's 2012 totals. Romney garnered 27 percent support from Hispanics to President Obama's 71 percent.

Trump also did better with black voters than Romney. Trump received eight percent support from black voters compared to Romney's 6 percent in 2012, NBC News reported.
