Secretary of Labor Tom Perez joked about an AMBER Alert while campaigning for Hillary Clinton in North Carolina on Tuesday night, in a video captured by NTK Network.
Perez was speaking in Winston-Salem, N.C. to a crowd of Clinton supporters when their phones went off simultaneously to announce an Amber Alert.
AMBER Alert is an emergency response system employed to warn people when a child goes missing in their area.
The attendees' phones went off, interrupting Perez's speech.
"I don't know who that is," Perez said.
Someone in the crowd seemed to notify Perez that the phones were all receiving an AMBER Alert.
"Oh yeah? Well, Amber's going to vote for Hillary," Perez joked, seemingly unaware of the alert system.
The AMBER Alert was later canceled after the child in question was found safe with his parents.
