House Intelligence Committee chairman Adam Schiff (D., Calif.) repeatedly interrupted congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R., N.Y.) during Friday's impeachment hearing.
Ranking member Rep. Devin Nunes (R., Calif.) yielded his time to allow Stefanik to ask former ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch questions, but Schiff interrupted her before she was able to begin the interview.
"The gentlewoman will suspend," Schiff interrupted.
"What is the interruption for this time?" Stefanik asked.
Schiff said Stefanik wasn't recognized to speak and that only Nunes or the Republican counsel could ask the former ambassador questions at that time.
"Under House resolution 660, you're not allowed to yield time except to House counsel," Schiff said.
Stefanik attempted to move forward with her question before Schiff silenced her again.
"This is the fifth time you have interrupted members of Congress—duly elected members of Congress," Stefanik said.
