Scarborough Gives Reminder of Elizabeth Warren's Hypocrisy Over Housing Market

May 25, 2016

Joe Scarborough, host of MSNBC's Morning Joe, reminded the show's panel of Sen. Elizabeth Warren's (D., Mass.) hypocrisy after she attacked Donald Trump for his comments on the housing market.

After a clip of Donald Trump from before the recession surfaced, in which he hoped for trouble in the housing market for business purposes, Warren attacked Trump for his comments, calling him, "a small, insecure moneygrubber." Warren, too, has made money on the housing market. After playing a clip of Warren criticizing Trump, Scarborough reminded everyone of an article.

"Just a headline, though, from National Review, May 27, 2015," he said. "Because I heard this and we all heard this, and so, headline: ‘Elizabeth Warren Bought Foreclosed Homes to Make a Quick Profit.’ May 27, 2015, ‘before the crash that she blamed on speculators, Sen. Elizabeth Warren made a bundle by flipping houses.’"

The panel went on to discuss Trump's business moves in real estate.

The article by the National Review says that while Warren condemns the practice of flipping homes, she has made a considerable amount of her wealth by flipping homes, including a couple that had fallen into foreclosure.
