MSNBC Panel Mocks Pence's Posture During Trump Meeting With Pelosi, Schumer

December 11, 2018

An MSNBC panel on Tuesday mocked Vice President Mike Pence's posture during President Donald Trump's meeting with Democratic leaders at the White House, saying Pence looked like he was at a strip club while sitting in the Oval Office.

Pence and Trump sat down with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) at the White House, where they met to negotiate terms of a spending bill to avoid a government shutdown .

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace asked political analyst Steve Schmidt what he thought of Pence's body language during the contentious meeting, showing footage of Pence while exclaiming, "Look at this! Look at him!"

"If you sit like that on a commercial airliner, what will happen is all the flight attendants will have a meeting up front to decide which one is going to check his pulse," Schmidt said. "It is extraordinary."

Another one of the panelists, who appeared to be MSNBC political analyst Elise Jordan, said that Pence looked "like he [was] at a strip club" and "horrified."

"What's amazing is he can keep his entire body so perfectly still. We see slight movement in the head," Schmidt added in a mocking tone. "Incredible posture."

The MSNBC panelists were not the only ones mocking Pence's appearance at the meeting. HuffPost compiled a list of tweets from reporters and random Twitter users mocking the vice president's "lack of emotion."
