Republicans are pouncing on Hillary Clinton's failure to address veterans issues during Tuesday night's Democratic debate, saying it "speaks volumes of where her priorities lay."

Clinton didn't say the word "veteran" once during the two-hour debate, according to a transcript of the event. Both Bernie Sanders and Jim Webb, himself a former Marine, addressed the issue multiple times.

"Hillary Clinton’s refusal to even mention our veterans during last night’s two-and-half hour debate speaks volumes of where her priorities lay," said Bob Carey, the Republican National Committee's director of military engagement.

The line of attack against Clinton was influenced by her own campaigns decision to criticize Republican candidates following their August debate for not saying "one word" about college affordability.

"I don't know who they're talking to out on the campaign trail," Clinton said during a campaign event at a community college following the Republican debate. "I think this is a major challenge, and I want us to address it. Not one word from the other side."

Carey said that the military community deserved more from Clinton.

"Through their service and sacrifice, our military community deserves the country’s utmost attention, especially in light of how poorly veterans have been treated under the Obama administration," said Carey.
