French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen had eggs thrown at her while on the campaign trail in Brittany on Thursday.
The incident was caught on video by the Independent.
Le Pen arrived in Dol-de-Bretagne when protesters threw several eggs at her. The protesters were waiting for the arrival of the far-right National Front Party candidate with signs that said, "Out with the fascists."
In the video, it appears that Le Pen was not hit by any of the eggs. She was quickly rushed inside by bodyguards.
Le Pen and her centrist opponent, Emmanuel Macron, faced off against one another in a contentious debate Wednesday night. During the debate, things got heated as the two traded insults and talked over each other.
"The high priestess of fear is sitting in front of me," Macron said.
"You are the France of submission," Le Pen responded.
Recent polls show Macron with a considerable lead heading into Sunday's election.
Former President Obama endorsed Macron on Thursday in a video addressed to the French people.
