Fournier: Dems Working Closely with Hillary Worried Obama's Liberal SOTU 'Puts Her in a Box'

In President Obama’s State of the Union address, he issued nine veto threats and promised more executive orders.

The president never acknowledged that the midterm elections even happened, leaving the Republican majority Congress with their hands tied.

This statement did not surprise George Will.

"Ignoring is part of the job description of being a progressive," Will said. "The remainder of his term is to set up the 2016 election."

Obama did seem to set up Hillary Clinton for her run for the White House, and this has made Democrats and those working closely with her nervous.

"Smart Democrats, including people who are working very closely with Hillary Clinton, they're worried what the the president did with his very muscular, very non-bending State of the Union address is put her in a box," the National Journal's Ron Fournier said. "She's going to be forced to the left quicker and harder than she would like to be to be elected in the general election."

If Obama is setting up for 2016 rather than focusing on his legacy, this will push Clinton to make decisions faster and harder than she would like.
