Ernst Slams Braley On Obamacare Flip-Flops

October 16, 2014

Republican Joni Ernst addressed Obamacare’s failures Thursday during the Iowa Senate debate. Ernst accused her opponent, Rep. Bruce Braley (D., Iowa) of reading the Affordable Care Act cover-to-cover and still voting for the disastrous legislation.

Ernst said that that 31 million Americans still have no health insurance under Obamacare, and that Braley has repeatedly flip-flopped on the controversial law.

"You said you read every page of this bill--you tabbed it, you highlighted it--so either you didn’t understand what was in the bill, or you were misleading Iowans, and I don’t know which one is worse," Ernst said.

In the past, Braley said he would not change "one thing" about Obamacare, but throughout his campaign for U.S. Senate, the candidate acknowledged that some changes need to be made.

"The Congressman stated costs will not go up, but we are seeing heavily increased costs because of the policy cancellations," Ernst said.

Ernst leads Braley by four points.
