Julie Roginsky, a Democratic strategist and former aide to New Jersey Senator Frank Lautenberg, exposed what many endangered Democrats up for reelection are thinking: none of them want to be seen with Barack Obama.
When asked why prominent Democratic candidates such as North Carolina Senator Kay Hagan and Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke have recently declined to appear with Obama, Roginsky replied, "Well look nobody is pretending Barack Obama is popular today. And frankly if I were an endangered Democrat I’m not sure I’d campaign with him either."
