Cutter on emails: 'Every now and then it does happen'

Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter said Wednesday that while White House staffers are instructed not to use personal email to conduct White House business, "every now and then it does happen."

Politico reported Tuesday that current Obama campaign manager Jim Messina used a personal email account to negotiate with pharmaceutical lobbyists, and schedule meetings outside federal premises, during the debate over the Affordable Care Act. House Republicans have alleged Messina did this to evade disclosure rules.

Cutter, like Messina, also worked at the White House.
