MSNBC: Clinton 'Got Creamed With Young Voters Again'

April 6, 2016

After Hillary Clinton's loss in Wisconsin, her exit polls showed that she had been crushed with young voters by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) and still has a trustworthiness problem.

MSNBC's co-anchor Willie Geist discussed these not-exactly-ideal exit polls on Morning Joe Wednesday.

He described these numbers as her getting "creamed" and "terrible."

"There are a couple warning signs in there," he said. "She got creamed with young voters again. He won 80 percent of young voters and also her honest and trustworthy numbers on exit polls. Again, terrible. "

Clinton’s two biggest issues with her campaign have been making it more difficult for her to get to the nomination as easily as she would have liked.

"I don’t know if it’s enough to make a difference now in this primary process but down the road, it could hurt," he said.

Sanders has had increasing success among millenials during this primary process while Clinton has badly struggled.

A Marquette Law School poll showed the following ahead of Tuesday's Wisconsin results:

Among likely Democratic primary voters, there are large differences in preference by age, with Sanders winning 83 percent among those 18-29, 59 percent among 30-44 year olds, 43 percent among those age 45-59 and 31 percent among those 60 and over. For Clinton the corresponding percentages are 12 percent among ages 18-29, 37 percent among ages 30-44, 51 percent among ages 45-59 and 63 percent among those 60 and over.

This poll was very close to the actual results of the Wisconsin primary, showing that his unwavering support of young voters has helped him make the run for the Democratic nomination more difficult than Clinton had hoped.
