New Ad Accuses Jon Ossoff of Friendliness to Pelosi Agenda

April 4, 2017

The Congressional Leadership Fund released an ad on Tuesday accusing Democratic House candidate Jon Ossoff being more in step with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) than with the voters of the Georgia sixth district.

Ossoff is running for the seat previously held by Health Sec. Tom Price, representing Georgia's conservative sixth district. The ad tells viewers "if you don't like Nancy Pelosi's agenda, you won't like Jon Ossoff." It attacks Ossoff as "dishonest and liberal," and hits him for inflating his national security resume.

The ad also claims Ossoff will "rubber stamp Pelosi's extreme agenda," suggesting he will back the House Minority Leader on the size of government, increased spending and taxes, and weakening the military.

Ossoff has received over $3 million in campaign contributions, and liberal celebrities like Alyssa Milano and Christopher Gorham have stumped for Ossoff in the district.

A CLF press release said that they expect the ad to "[capitalize] on Nancy Pelosi’s unpopularity in the sixth district." Before his nomination to the cabinet, Price won reelection in the district by a comfortable 23 percent margin.
