CBS Reporter Walks Through Gutted Consulate

'I have to start by saying this is not a heavily fortified compound--it wasn't even really a fortified compound'

CBS News correspondent Charlie D'Agata reported from inside the burned out U.S. Consulate Thursday morning in Benghazi, Libya.

"The consulate was completely decimated," D'Agata said in the report. "I have to start by saying this is not a heavily fortified compound--it wasn't even really a fortified compound. It's just a building or a group of buildings on a residential street."

An attack at the consulate resulted in the deaths of four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens.

A group described as pro-al Qaeda is the leading suspect in the attack, according to CNN sources.
