Senior Editor for the Washington Free Beacon Bill Gertz discussed an internal Chinese defense report which describes preparation for a "People's War" in space and cyber warfare Wednesday on Canada's Sun News Network.

Gertz reveals that this document marks the first time the United States has gotten a glimpse into China's top-secret military programs which focus on developing the ability to wage a cyber war in space against the United States.

The report links China's space warfare programs with its infamous cyber capabilities, both areas which could provide China with an advantage over the militarily stronger United States.

Gertz said that this particularly affects the United States' military due to the vulnerability of satellites. Destruction of a few satellites, Gertz noted, would disrupt the military's ability to mobilize and coordinate warfare.

The U.S. Cyber Command, Gertz concluded, is experiencing a "development curve" defending against these emerging Chinese cyber threats because most domestic networks are held in private hands outside the authority of military.
