Senior Editor of the Washington Free Beacon Bill Gertz appeared on "The Rick Amato Show" to discuss Chinese cyber warfare and Edward Snowden Monday on One America News.
Bill Gertz reported on China's aggressive cyber warfare program which includes preparation for possible space warfare targeting international satellites.
The report cited by Gertz details the three components of China's military future strategy for warfare: cyber, space weaponry, and ballistic missiles. Gertz noted the ballistic missiles are now functional and pose a grave threat to the United States.
Host Rick Amato asked Gertz if the U.S. "has lost the moral high ground" to critique China's cyber warfare operations in light of the NSA Edward Snowden scandal.
Gertz replied the answer is mixed, as there were some aspects of the NSA program that the government was not forthright about with the public, but overall China's attitude towards cyber war and surveillance is far less benevolent than that of the United States.
Amato concluded by asking Gertz if he felt Edward Snowden was a traitor or a patriot.
Gertz responded he believes Snowden is a "defector" who has embraced anti-American "anarchist" politics and turned against his country.
