"Hardball" host Chris Matthews said he has not figured out Huffington Post writer Sam Stein's "politics" Monday afternoon:
CHRIS MATTHEWS: You're amazing. You talk faster than me. You're smart as me, or smarter. And everybody I bump into says you're great, so you 're unbelievable. Joy, you are something. And Sam, you're great, too, I guess.
SAM STEIN: Thank you.
CHRIS MATTHEWS: Just kidding, Sam.
JOY REID: I appreciate it.
CHRIS MATTHEWS: You're catching on.
SAM STEIN: I'm almost as good as Joy.
CHRIS MATTHEWS: I can't even figure out your politics, Sam. I've been on with you 100 times now. I can't figure you out yet. I think I figured out Joy, she's like me, but I haven't figured you out.
