Police in Columbia, S.C., have arrested a South Carolina lawmaker and candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives for driving under the influence and carrying an illegal weapon. The State reports:
Rep. Ted Vick, D-Chesterfield, is currently at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing on the charges, which also includes speeding.
Vick is one of several candidates seeking the Democratic nomination for South Carolina’s new 7th congressional seat. That primary is scheduled for June 12.
