Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) on Thursday asked former FBI Director James Comey why he thought "the only thing" that has not been leaked during the federal Russia investigation is that President Donald Trump was not personally being investigated.
Rubio was questioning Comey during the former FBI director's appearance before the Senate Intelligence Committee one month after President Trump fired him.
At the hearing, Rubio was curious why in the midst of so many leaks to the media regarding the probe into potential ties between the Trump campaign and Russia, no one seemed to leak that Trump was not personally under investigation.
"You know this investigation is full of leaks left and right," Rubio said. "Do you ever wonder why of all the things in this investigation, the only thing that's never been leaked is the fact that the president was not personally under investigation."
"I don't know," Comey said. "I find matters that are briefed to the Gang of Eight are pretty tightly held in my experience."
