An Indianapolis Democratic councilman was arrested Sunday for interfering with a crime scene, Fox Indianapolis reports:
ANCHOR: New this morning: councilor arrested—police say Joseph Simpson is now facing charges after interfering at a crime scene. This happened during a burglary investigation, they say yesterday. Police say Simpson approached them and asked if everything was ok. Officers say they asked Simpson to leave multiple times of but he refused. Police say he started to yell and told officers he pays taxes and their salaries. After a final warning, Simpson refused to leave and officers threatened to use a stun gun on him before he was arrested. Simpson now faces three misdemeanor chargers including interfering with the law, resisting law enforcement, and also disorderly conduct.
"This is a public sidewalk. This is a public street, and I pay taxes on all of it, and I pay your salary, too," Simpson told police, according to CBS Indianapolis.
