The Washington Free Beacon’s Ellison Barber interviewed the Free Beacon’s senior editor Bill Gertz on his recent report that Belarusian malware could pose a cyber threat to the Obamacare health care network, and thus the 300 government agencies that are linked to healthcare.gov.
Gertz claimed a senior Belarusian official recently bragged on a local radio station, "Our software is now on all the screens of Obamacare in the United States."
"So far [the administration] has said they haven’t found any malicious software. It’s not easy to do that," Gertz warned. "Any sophisticated nation state like Belarus that were to plant something inside that system would be difficult to find."
Gertz also noted that the intelligence report warning of the threat to Obamacare was later recalled, which "raised the specter of politicization" for House Intelligence Committee member Michelle Bachmann (R-MN).
"That is because this program, Obamacare, is such a significant part of the President’s domestic agenda. [Rep. Bachmann] has concerns that perhaps this intelligence about this threat from Belarus was being suppressed," Gertz said.
