The Romulus, Michigan city council unanimously agreed that Mayor Alan Lambert resign from his office.
Mayor Lambert was not present during Monday's city council meeting where council members and citizens made statements against him. Instead, a city employee represented Lambert with a statement of his own.
Lambert has been under increasing pressure since Michigan State Police raided his home as part of an ongoing public corruption probe.
