The Washington Free Beacon’s Ellison Barber joined Fox News’ Gretchen Carlson Thursday to discuss new revelations on the Benghazi attack, saying former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will always be tied to Benghazi.
"They were telling [the State Department] since the summer of 2012 there were serious security concerns in Libya. She should have taken proactive action as the leader to prevent them and she didn’t," Barber said. "I think whether her name is mentioned [in the report] or not is irrelevant. It is still going to an issue of her leadership and that’s going to be a big problem for her."
The report referenced by Barber was recently released by the Senate Intelligence Committee and shows that administration officials received multiple warnings of the Benghazi consulate’s weakness. The report also revealed that administration officials almost immediately knew the attack was a planned act of terror and not in response to an Internet video, as the administration originally claimed.
"She said for two weeks it was a video," Barber said, "but still at the end of the day it’s a lie and people will understand that. This has the potential to derail 2016 for her."
