Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga.) said she was attacked in a restaurant Monday night by a woman and her "adult son," the latest example of leftist activists threatening lawmakers in public.
"They had no respect for the restaurant or the staff or the other people dining or people like me who simply have different political views," Greene tweeted. "They are self righteous, insane, and completely out of control."
Greene said she was working with her staff at a table and did not notice the individuals "until they turned into demons."

Greene, an outspoken critic of President Joe Biden, isn’t new to threats from leftists. New York resident Joseph Morelli pleaded guilty to three counts of transmitting interstate threatening communications earlier this month after leaving voicemail messages on Greene’s Washington, D.C., office phone in March 2022.
Morelli said in the voicemails he would "have to take your life into my own hands."
"I’m gonna hurt you. Physically, I’m gonna harm you," Morelli said, according to an FBI affidavit.
While no violence was reported in Monday’s incident, Greene's deputy chief of staff Nick Dyer told NBC News that he had to stand between the table and the male harasser. "I had no clue what he’d do," Dyer said.
Dyer said the woman "started berating" Greene, and the man started "screaming expletives at the top of his lungs." The pair were removed from the restaurant and Greene and staff were moved to another table.
Dyer did not identify the restaurant where the incident occurred, saying it would encourage others "to look for her there."
"People used to respect others even if they had different views," Greene said. "But not anymore. Our country is gone."
Last summer Supreme Court justice Brett Kavanaugh had to exit a D.C. restaurant after left-wing activists gathered outside. Republican Sens. Ted Cruz (Texas), Mitch McConnell (Ky.), and Rand Paul (Ky.) have all faced disruptions during meals at restaurants.
