Gov. Martin O'Malley said the Republican party works to "outlaw contraception," on CNN's "Starting Point" with Soledad O'Brien Friday.
O'MALLEY: In Maryland, in states that are governed by Democratic governors, we’re focused on jobs. The president’s focused on jobs. Yes, from time to time, we have to confront issues that are potentially divisive or culturally divisive. But, look, we don’t spend a whole lot of time figuring out ways we can outlaw contraception, outlaw gay relationships, outlaw women’s rights. We’re about jobs and opportunity and protecting equal rights for all.
O'BRIEN: Well, last week there was lots of conversation about, I think, contraception and a lot of that came actually right out of the president’s office.
O’MALLEY: Yeah, but it wasn’t about outlawing it.
