The deadly earthquake that struck Nepal on Saturday triggered an avalanche that covered a base camp on Mount Everest that left hundreds missing. In a video captured just before the avalanche, the cameraman starts off laughing that the ground was shaking and pans around the base camp.
But then the moment turns to panic when other campers start running to take cover from the incoming avalanche. A few mountain climbers huddled together to weather the rushing snow.
USA Today reported that at least 18 are dead and dozens are missing. Survivors were forced to make their way off of Mount Everest. The death toll for the earthquake in Nepal has reached well over 3,000.
