Rep. Jackie Walorski (R., Ind.) a member of the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs, says "this is the time when the FBI has to take the lead" on criminal behavior at the Department of Veterans' Affairs.
Walorski appeared on "Mornings on the Mall" on WMAL in Washington, D.C., Tuesday morning with Brian Wilson and me. We discussed the Monday evening hearings where Acting Inspector General Richard Griffin told Rep. Jeff Miller's (R., Fla.) committee he was investigating alleged wrong-doing at 69 medical facilities, up from 42 two weeks ago. He said he has discussed evidence of manipulated data with the Justice Department, but Attorney General Eric Holder was "still considering" whether crimes occurred.
"This is criminal and they have to get to the bottom of this and root out the criminal element of leadership. It is nation-wide and I think this story is going to get darker as we go," Walorski said.
