Ellison Barber Evaluates Obamacare's Impact on Midterm Elections

Washington Free Beacon’s Ellison Barber appeared on Fox News’ Happening Now to discuss how the disastrous Obamacare rollout will impact Democrats in their upcoming midterm elections and spoke at length about Byron York’s piece on the matter.

Democrats are currently dealing with the aftermath of the botched Obamacare rollout, which has left Americans frustrated with the party who sought to implement the health exchange. Broken promises , a glitch ridden website, and a President whose disapproval ratings are soaring in past months are all factors plaguing Democrats in their races.

Democrats are mainly concerned with the Senate races, Barber argued. To gain control of the House, Democrats would need to pick up 17 seats- an unlikely prospect. Meanwhile, Republicans only need to win six Senate elections to take back control.

Obamacare fixes have been proposed by Democrats in an effort to rebuff backlash the health exchange has received. Sen. Mary Landrieu (D., La.) put forward a resolution that was almost identical to President Obama’s. While some might praise Landrieu for proposing a solution, others will likely remain skeptical of it because of its similarity to the President’s- a factor that could affect her in her reelection race.
