Bill Press Praises Rolling Stone Publisher for Journalistic Integrity

November 30, 2016

CNN's Brooke Baldwin and liberal radio host Bill Press complimented Rolling Stone co-founder and publisher Jann Wenner for maintaining high journalistic standards just weeks after the magazine was found liable in a defamation lawsuit.

Baldwin spoke with Press, a CNN commentator, about Rolling Stone's latest feature by Wenner, who spoke with President Obama one day after the election in an in-depth interview about his legacy.

Baldwin asked Press if he agreed with Obama's remarks in Rolling Stone about Fox News playing a part in the 2016 election because it is on television in "every bar and restaurant in big chunks of the country."

Before Press answered Baldwin's question, he touted the journalistic integrity of Wenner and his magazine.

"Kudos to Rolling Stone and Jann Wenner again for keeping our journalistic standards high, Brooke," Press said.

"No kidding," Baldwin responded.

Their comments came just a few weeks after Rolling Stone and writer Sabrina Erdely were found liable in a defamation lawsuit earlier this month for a fallacious story that Erdely wrote and the magazine published on a rape at the University of Virginia that had to be retracted.
