The Washington Free Beacon’s Ellison Barber appeared on Fox News’ Happening Now to discuss the latest Obamacare delay.
Barber said the newest delay was prompted because businesses are having a difficult time complying with regulations and are being forced to cut back employees’ hours. The administration has created this delay for after the midterm elections because Obamacare is hurting the economy, Barber told Fox News’ Jon Scott.
The delay is "simply because of elections," she said. The White House fears losing control of the Senate.
The delay gives businesses with 50 to 99 employees extra time to implement Obamacare. Barber said that this delay is a message to workers to purchase their own health insurance or face a penalty. It is an unfair to give businesses a delay but still force individuals to pay a penalty, she said.
