Veteran CNN anchors Wolf Blitzer and Anderson Cooper said Tuesday's debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden could be the last one held before the election.
"I wouldn't be surprised if this is the last presidential debate between the president of the United States and the former vice president of the United States," Blitzer said after Tuesday night's debate.
Blitzer described the evening as "chaotic" and added that it "will certainly raise a lot of questions about the future of the presidential debate between these two candidates."
Cooper openly questioned whether there should be further debates. Barack Obama's chief campaign strategist David Axelrod, now a CNN commentator, said Americans would likely agree with Biden refusing to "dignify this with another debate."
